Fruiting body iniially egg-shaped, 15-30 x 10-15mm, white, base attached to white, cord-like rhizomorphs.  Head 15-30 mm tall x 10-15 mm broad, concial to fusiform, wrinkled to logitudinally ridged, apex truncate, pink to red.   Gleba covering the head, gelatinous, dark grayish olive.  Stem 50-150 x 8-15mm, cylindrical or gradually enlarged downward, hollow, wrinkled to pitted, pink to salmon at the apex grading to white at the base.  Volva sacklike, white.  Odor strongly fetid.  Spores grayish olive.  Edibility:  Poisonous.
