Fruting Body resupinate to shelflike, sometimes imbricate, 20-80 mm broad x 4-8 mm thick, tough and leathery, at first white to cream-colored overall but soon red to burgundy with a white margin. Pores angular to irregularly elongated, 2-3 per mm, burgundy; tubes in a single layer, 1-5 mm long. Stem absent. Spore Deposit white. Edibility: edible but too tough to eat.
