Greek konis, dusty, +gramme, line, in reference to the sporangia arranged in lines along the veins.
Plants medium-sized, terrestrial. Rhizomes short- to medium-creeping with lanceolate, rigid, brown scales. Stipes straw-colored, glossy, glabrous. Blades 1- to 2-pinnate, tips resembling lateral pinnae. Pinnae stalked, ovate-lanceolate. Veins free, forked, sometimes anastomosing near margins. Sori exindusiate, in long lines along veins.
A genus of twenty or more species in tropical areas ranging from Africa to the Himalayas, China, Indonesia, Japan, and the Pacific basin. Represented in Hawai 'i by a single endemic species.
