Plants small to medium-sized, filmy, terrestrial. Rhizomes stout, erect to decumbent with a rosette of fronds and old stipes at tips. Fronds clustered at tips of rhizomes, erect to spreading. Stipes and rachises with abundant dark brown to black hairs. Blades finely dissected, to 4-pinnate. Sori marginal, more or less stalked. Indusia cone- to urn-shaped with flared lips, with hairlike projections from centers of cones bearing sporangia.
A genus of about five species ranging from Sumatra to the South Pacific. Represented in Hawai 'i by a single variable, native species.
