Plants small to medium-sized, filmy, epiphytic. Rhizomes threadlike. Blades 2- to 3-pinnate, membranous, glabrous, I cell thick except at veins, margins entire. Sori embedded in ultimate segments. Indusia bivalvate, deeply cleft.
A pan tropical and southern genus of about 100 species, with northern species on Sakhalin and Queen Charlotte Island. Represented in Hawai 'i by a single endemic species.
