Fruiting Bodies pear-shaped or subglobose with a tapered Stem, 40-60 mm tall x 25-40 mm broad, white to creamy brown; peridium thin, membranous, opening by a single pore (ostiole) at Fruting Body apex, covered with small, white to grayish brown conical spines, these fall off in age leaving a characteristic reticulate pattern of scars. Gleba white when young, becoming powdery and brown to olivaceous brown in age. Stem 20-30 x 10-15 mm, apex covered by spines, base glabrous. Spores brown. Edibility; edible when gleba is white.
