Epiphytes are common in the shr ub layer. Assoc. plants: Gunnera kauaiensis, Cyanea sylvestr is, Dubautia, Dicranopteris, Trematolobelia, Labordia, Scaev ola mollis, Cyrtandra kauaiensis, Perrottetia ssp, Mariscus . Area is steep with little or no animal destruction.
