Deciduous tree, 7.5 m tall. All vegetative parts glabrous. Leaves palmately compound, alternate, spiraling, forming a terminal rosette on branches, 7-8 leaflets per leaf, stipules absent. Leaflets almost sessile, entire, obovate to almost elliptic, apex tristate. Bark fissured, scaly, flaky, grayish white to light brown. Flowers bisexual, incomplete, green and red, asepalous, sympetalous, paniculate, hypogynous, ovary superior, corolla 5-merous and curled outward. Stamens 10, paired, filaments highly reduced, adnate to base of ovary. Ovary elevated more than halfway above extreme base, conspicuous, pubescent.
