Growing as a ground cover at the base of a large Albizia saman tree elevated in a large circular concrete trough. Partial sun.
Moist soil with igneous rock amendment.
Crawling evergreen herbaceous perennial forming many runners that create a sparse to dense ground cover. Stems round, light green to light grayish purple, moderately pubescent; adventitious roots at nodes on crawling stems; internodes long. Leaves simple, opposite, moderately pubescent on upper and lower surfaces, margin serrate, shape elliptic to trilobate, leaf color dark green on upper surface and light green on lower surface, venation reticulate length 4.7-7.8 cm, width 2.5-4 cm; prominent midrib at base of lower surface and less prominent at apex, lower surface midrib fades from light whitish green at base to light green at apex, less prominent midrib on upper surface; leaves nearly sessile; petiole light green and 0.2-0.4 cm long. Flowers arranged in a head inflorescence and attached to a common receptacle on a long peduncle. Involucre green and resembling sepals; ligulate flowers arranged around the perimeter and disk flowers clustered together to for the center of the inflorescence; ligulate flowers zygomorphic, unisexual, imperfect, carpellate, calyx light green and translucent; ligules yellow, three lobed; disk flowers actinomorphic bisexual, complete, stigmas elevated above stamens with anthers united below, stigmas yellow, stamens dark brown, calyx light green, corolla light yellow, calyx and corolla translucent.
