Perennial, stoloniferous, +/- erect, mostly 20-60 cm tall; culms slender, glabrous. Sheaths mostly shorter than internodes, glabrous but with pubescence on collar and long-ciliate margins; blades narrowly lanceolate, 4-12 cm long, 1-1.5 cm wide, rounded to subcordate at base, long-pilose above, glabrous to long-pilose below, scabrous and long-ciliate on margins, minutely cross-veined. Panicles 5-10 cm long, narrow, having very slender, few-flowered branches; spikelets ca 7 mm long, acuminate; glumes glabrous, nearly equal, covering sterile lemma and fertile floret, the sterile lemma villous between lateral veins. Fruits indurate, acuminate, white or tan, smooth, shiny. Croat 5624.
